Privacy policy
What data radlab.dev processes, why we use basic analytics and how to manage your consent.
Last updated: 2 October 2026.
The essentials
- We do not display advertising or use analytics for remarketing or personalised advertising.
- Google Analytics is used only for basic statistics: how many people visit, which content they read and whether the site works well on their devices.
- Analytics starts only after your consent. Without it, we do not load Google Analytics, send visit data to it or store its cookies. Refusing does not block any content.
- We store your manual language and theme choices and your analytics decision locally in your browser.
Who is responsible for the site
RadLab is responsible for radlab.dev. For questions about privacy and data processing, contact hello@radlab.dev.
This policy covers radlab.dev, its blog and product descriptions. External services and separately operated applications and tools may have their own privacy policies.
What data we collect and why
Basic analytics — only with consent
We use Google Analytics 4. After you accept, it may process:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Page addresses and titles, visit times, page views and engagement | Understanding which articles and product descriptions are useful |
| Visit sources, such as search engines, referring sites or campaign labels in links | Understanding how readers find the site |
| Device type, operating system, browser, language and screen characteristics | Improving readability and site functionality |
| Approximate location, such as country or region | Understanding the site's reach without determining precise locations |
| Cookie and session identifiers and automatic events, depending on GA4 settings, such as scrolling and outbound link clicks | Producing visit and content usage statistics |
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or correspondence to analytics. We do not use User-ID. Cookie identifiers do not mean complete anonymity: they may recognise the same browser across visits. Page addresses may include link parameters, so do not put personal data in URLs.
A connection to Google necessarily sends an IP address. According to GA4 documentation, IP addresses are used, among other things, to derive approximate locations but are not logged or stored by GA4. This does not make all visit data anonymous.
Our site code disables Google Signals and advertising personalisation signals. Advertising consent remains denied even when you accept analytics. We do not create remarketing lists, sell data or use it for automated decisions with legal effects.
Site operation and security
Even without analytics consent, your browser must contact the server to download pages, images and other files. The hosting provider may process technical request data: IP address, date and time, requested address, browser information and response status. This supports page delivery, error diagnosis and protection against abuse, not advertising. Refusing Google Analytics does not disable these necessary connections.
Contacting us
If you email us, we process your address, message and any details you voluntarily provide to reply and handle correspondence. Browsing the site does not require you to provide these details.
Cookies and browser storage
| Storage | Content and purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
radlab-analytics-consent in localStorage |
Analytics acceptance or refusal, decision time and storage version | The decision is valid for 180 days; afterwards we ask again |
radlab-language in localStorage |
Manually selected language | Until you clear site data in your browser or change your choice |
radlab-theme in localStorage |
Manually selected light or dark theme | Until you clear site data in your browser or change your choice |
Google Analytics cookies, such as _ga and _ga_* |
Browser identifiers and session state, only after consent | Depending on Google Analytics settings; by default they can last up to 2 years and be renewed on later visits |
localStorage is browser storage separate from cookies. We do not send these three settings as separate analytics data. After 180 days we stop recognising the saved decision, although the record may remain in storage until you make another choice or clear it manually. Preferences are not used for tracking. Without a manual language or theme choice, we use browser and system settings.
How to refuse or withdraw consent
Select “Reject analytics” in the banner. If you previously accepted, open “Privacy settings” in the footer of any page and choose to reject. You can also grant consent again there.
Withdrawal stops further measurement and removes this site's Google Analytics cookies accessible to our script. If analytics was already running, we reload the page to stop Google's running scripts too. Withdrawal does not automatically delete data already sent or affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can contact us about that data.
You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Removing the saved decision means we will ask for consent again. If your browser blocks storage, your choice may last only for the current page.
Legal bases
- Analytics: your voluntary consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Page delivery, security and ordinary correspondence: our legitimate interest in operating the site and handling enquiries — Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Enquiries aimed at entering into a contract: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where applicable.
Local storage of your consent decision lets us respect it, while manual preferences provide the settings you requested, not analytics.
Data recipients and processing outside the EEA
Hosting providers may process technical data, and email providers may process correspondence. After consent, analytics data also goes to Google, the Google Analytics provider (in the EEA: Google Ireland Limited), and may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the USA. Google describes its transfer mechanisms, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses, in its data transfer information.
For service details, see Google's information on safeguarding Analytics data. These are supplementary resources, not a replacement for the radlab.dev policy on this page.
How long data is kept
Local storage periods are described above. Consent being valid for 180 days does not mean that data already sent to Google is deleted after 180 days. User and event data retention is configured in the GA4 administration panel independently of cookie expiry; aggregated reports may follow different rules. To ask about the current retention setting, email hello@radlab.dev.
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and then, where necessary, to meet legal obligations or establish and defend legal claims. Technical log retention depends on the hosting provider's configuration and security needs; contact us for details.
Your rights
Where provided by the GDPR, you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw analytics consent. How these rights apply depends on the legal basis and whether data can be linked to you; we do not collect extra data solely to identify readers.
Contact hello@radlab.dev. You also have the right to complain to the President of Poland's Personal Data Protection Office or your competent supervisory authority. See uodo.gov.pl for information.
External links and policy updates
Following a link to an external service, such as GitHub, Hugging Face, LinkedIn or Google, connects you to that service, which has its own privacy policy. This policy does not cover its operations.
If our processing changes, we will update this page and the date above. If a change requires fresh consent, we will ask before enabling that processing.
